am taking a short break from working on report cards. what holds me up usually is the comment section. *argh* if only we could be as blunt as these new york city teachers . hee hee hee.

got another birthday coffee visit this afternoon. hmmm... do you think people know i like coffee? =P

got a picture today from my snow trip a few weeks ago. every time i see this picture, it makes me laugh. can't even remember though what we were laughing at. what a goofball!

morning devo- Isaiah 55:8-13
8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD . 9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, 11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. 12 You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. 13 Instead of the thornbush will grow the pine tree, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow.
This will be for the LORD's renown, for an everlasting sign, which will not be destroyed."

this year i decided to read through the Bible. am way behind...and it's only been a month. help keep me accountable.

i really shouldn't laugh, but... she bangs

i'm old...er now. i feel old. *argh* my last year in my twenties. next year i will have a mid-life crisis. wednesday was a good day. one of my students and her mom baked me a cake. wow. yummy. one of my other kids brought me coffee and breakfast. two other people also brought me coffee. so i had 4 cups of coffee (i had gotten one myself when i got to work)... all different kinds, all very tasty. was kinda hyper and had to take many trips to the bathroom. hee hee hee. dinner was fun. i can't wait to see the pictures. ate sushi and crepes. yum. so many people helped make my day special with their emails, phone calls, gifts, visits, and company. wow. =) and the party hasn't stopped! tonight the guys surprised me with a cake. awww. i have so many thoughtful friends. what a blessing!

more celebrating to come later...

work today was a blur. had a headache throughout the day. thankfully, the school day ended quickly. i've decided it's not wise to go snowboarding and work the next day. got back last night from a 2-day tahoe trip. was fun. first we went to northstar. the weather was not as cold as i expected. the snow was great. rode some black diamonds (though not real blacks, compared to other resorts). while we were on the lift, one of the belts broke and we were stuck suspended in air for 15 minutes. we all were given free drink vouchers when we finally got off. hurray for that. at the end of the day, drove to reno. stayed at silver legacy. for dinner, went to the el dorado buffet. the food was okay. when i ate there this past summer, i remember the food being better. this time, they had a chinese theme in accordance with chinese new year. there were live musicians, playing chinese music. they gave everyone a red envelope with a dollar gaming piece inside. that was cool. stayed up until about midnight hanging out. the next day we travelled to sugar bowl and boarded a full day. in the lift line, i "yelled" at this stupid asian guy who kept hitting my board with his. there were these 2 asian guys behind me. one of them kept knocking my board. was a bit annoyed. first i ignored it, then i turned around and glared at him and both of the guys would just look at me. so then, i had to resort to a verbal warning. i don't understand why that guy kept doing that. don't mess with my new board! anyways, we rode some black diamonds again. some were pretty steep. the first one we went on was a bit scary because it had a section that just dropped off and you couldn't see what was below. that run, i initially rode more cautiously and not as aggressive as i could have been. after a few times though, became more comfortable and felt more relaxed. was fun riding the diamonds. the weather was very cold. the wind up there was mighty fierce. by the end of the day, was pretty tired, not to mention, my left foot was hurting badly. am not sure why. later, we had dinner at ikeda's. yummy. got home at about 9:30. not bad. all in all, a good trip. can't wait to go again.

well, time to cook dinner. then off to a meeting at 7:30. hopefully, i'll be able to get a good night's sleep tonight. i think i'm coming down with something. =(

cool quote from my trip:
"Tact is for people not witty enough to be sarcastic".
